The Park

Immerse Yourself in Magical Surroundings

Soon Woodfin will be home to the largest free public park in Western North Carolina. Reynolds Park is surrounded by ancient mountain peaks and literally teems with wildlife. From soaring rock bluffs, to grassy pastures; from a cold, clear bold stream, to dense wooded areas, it is hard to believe that such a piece of land still exists in Buncombe County. This rare opportunity is the result of years of planning and cooperation with the Town of Woodfin, Buncombe County and the State of North Carolina. The result will be an asset to the entire community.

Highlights of the Reynolds Park master plan:

  • Hiking, biking and walking trails including a planned 3.1 mile greenway stretching from along the French Broad River to Beaver Lake and beyond
  • A multi-use community featuring a 60,000 square foot YMCA, sports fields, a school, an active adult community, retirement living, affordable housing for teachers and appropriate retail components
  • A sculpture garden, amphitheatre and other cultural arts venues
  • Multifamily residential units with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains
  • A state-of-the-art medical and office park
